Obama Family Leases a $20 Million Dollar Farm for Summer Vacation (Ex.com 7/26/09)

Now, I don't begrudge vacations, but when the rest of this country's citizens are suffering, a fact which obama often uses to get bailout bills, etc., passed, isn't it totally tacky of them to do this?

President Obama and his family have rented a farm in Martha's Vineyard for their summer vacation next month. They will start their vacation the last week of August, according to reports.

According to the Vineyard Gazette, the Obamas have rented the Blue Heron Farm. The farm is located on 28.5-acres. No one is quite sure how much the rental is costing the Obamas, but similar properties rent for $35,000 to $50,000 a week.

It has been reported that the Obama family will have access to a private portion of Squibnocket Beach.

The choice of a perfect rental property on Martha's vineyard has taken many months. Over 20 properties had been examined by Obama's aides and the secret service.

Obviously the economy hasn't been bad for the Obama family. I don't remember the Bush's taking official vacations, did they? I only remember them going to Camp David or their own Texas home. But regardless of past Presidents and their first families vacationing habits -- times have changed. We are in the sky is falling "worse economic climate since the GREAT DEPRESSION!!!". Many American families are struggling to keep afloat and family vacations are a thing of the past. Interesting that the first family wouldn't be more sensitive to that and forgo the luxury vacation. And if sensitivity to their fellow (voting) Americans is not their strong point it is unwise politically to appear to have the attitude of "it's good to be King" or "let them eat cake". Their actions and the visual of them vacationing in luxury will be a collective FU to the country.

Another vacation?  I thought they just came back from their EU tours.  Lots of people don't have jobs, why all this luxury.  The White House is not a bad place.

Yeah--the WH would be a great vacation for most people.

These two arrogant frauds have no bounds. The year is young and I predict their true intentions will be exposed.

It wasn't that long ago that they came back from that France trip. Must be nice. I am so glad to hear they are serious about "cutting back" like the rest of us. steaming.gif

And the Dems complained about how much Bush was gone? At least he was at HIS place, which HE owned; not jetting around Europe and then renting an expensive farm...

What a wonderful example of frugal living O and family present...don't you think?
