U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton snapped on a Congolese student over a question mistranslated about her husband's views on foreign policy, saying: "My husband is not secretary of state,...
I don't think Hillary mistranslated anything. The student's question seemed rude to me.
. i think we she herd that part about"what dose mr clinton think thru the mouth of mrs clinton", i think that was the part that upset her. & kinda sounded likie the person asking the qustion did not want her oppoin & that somehow she was somehow seconday to bill .

& i think she had a right to be upset on that one
I agree and besides, they way they treat women is so nasty and sexist.
It was the translator who made a mistake. The student wanted to not what Obama, not Bill, thought. But of course the MSM makes it look like hill's fault.
She should have gotten mad that someone asked her that sexist azz question. If the translator got it wrong then that's one thing. Why are they blaming Hillary?

I agree, you have to look at where they are and how women are treated over there. The student seemed like he wanted to know what the men think almost like Hillary is the messenger for male opinions.
I'm sorry to have to say this, but in my opinion SoS Clinton showed her anger and annoyance at the question because it got to her personally. And that is a No no.
I know how we all feel about Hillary, women's issues, and especially sexism (like in this question), but I must put that aside. When looking at that video I must ask myself how would I be reacting if it were not HRC? What if it was Pelosi and she reacted that way, while acting as an official of the USA government while in another country? If it was Pelosi who reacted that way, I think I would not be as generous in my acceptance of her reaction as I want to be for Hillary.
Look Hillary is human, she makes mistakes too. The question (wether mistranslated or not) really pissed her off, and she showed it. She was so annoyed she reacted without even checking if the translation of the question was right. She thought her opinion was not wanted and that the questioner was treating her disrespectfully. I think she felt he was treating her like a "first lady" or "seat filler" for her husband. She reacted in anger at being treated second fiddle to her husband - again. This reaction is not like Hillary, normally she very careful in what she says and how she says it. So she made a mistake. The worse part about it is she has now shown her enemies her achilles heel.
I apologize in advance to any and all of my fellow HW members who find my opinion offensive. My motives were just to remain, as FOX says, Fair and Balanced.
Sorry but, I would have defended ANY woman answering that question that way. I don't think it was a "mistake' in translation either. So what she got a little irritated? Obama is the king of arrogance and brushing people off.
The U.S. media ought to be talking about the work she was doing there instead of this. I am glad I got rid of my cable because the way public opinion is shaped in the U.S. is utterly disgusting.
And I think the bull**** concern that she feels second to Bill IS just bull****! The press says that over and over and over and over and people start to think that this IS the way she feels. They will sell ANY angle that sells the story they want you to believe. That is their angle.
This isn't about what Hillary said, it's about them being able to sell their meme and fairytale that they want and need people to believe about her.

She is the first wife of a living president to be in a position of power, that she earned herself.
People here and all over the world have been clogging her because she is the wife of Bill Clinton. There is no danger what so ever in her statement or her tone. Not to mention that when she broke her elbow, they used that against her too.
She can't please everybody, everytime and everywhere. She looking good, and I loved her dancing, keep dancing, and keep talking.

Bword is right she made a mistake but not a fatal one. She reacted without thinking I am not mad at her I just want to know why the press focused on this and not the fact that she was speaking out for women. That got overlooked for some foolishness. I am sick of the media already.

Yeah, that's what I heard and tend to believe - that the translator relayed the student's question to Hillary incorrectly. Of course, the MSM is going to make a mountain out of a molehill to distract attention away from their precious Obama, but she did seem on edge even before this happened - working for Obama is wearing on her nerves, understandable.
Chris Matthews tonite gave her high marks on her trip to Africa. She told it like she felt. He said it's refreshing to see high profile people not putting on acts. Just show he said how all of us are human beings.

I don't think anyone here could be mad at you for expressing your opinion. You have every right to. I think all us disagree with Hillary in some aspect we wouldn't be any better than the obots if we didn't.
You know I wish they would show the end were she still met with the student, but of course they won't. The media is getting a kick out of it. Hillary has showed this side before in reference to Bill. When in a debate with Obama he said snidely I dont know who I am running against you or Bill and she snapped on him I am here Bill is not.
