Why has Hillary stayed silent on Obama's missile defense surrender to Russia? (Post-partisan Examiner) 09-18-09

This article may sound a little negative toward Hill at first glance  - referring to her as "infamously strong and ruthless (that's actually a compliment, imo), but it's not.  The article makes the point that O appears weak here - and Hill's silence on the issue implies disapproval of his action regarding missile defense.

Why has Hillary stayed silent on Obama's missile defense surrender to Russia?

Europeans are outraged about the Obama administration’s out-of-nowhere decision to scrap plans for a missile defense security blanket over Eastern Europe.
Americans are concerned that rogue regimes worldwide have interpreted this move as a sign of weakness -- indeed Iranian dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was back on television today denying the Holocaust and vowing never to stop pursuing nuclear warheads.
Russia, meanwhile, is as overjoyed as Iran, with Putin offering oily compliments to the "bravery" of America's lightweight President.
Putin no doubt welcomes Obama’s strange move as a capitulation to Russia's increasingly belligerent and imperialistic behavior over the past decade, including last year's invasion of sovereign Georgia.
Both President Obama and Secretary of Defense William Gates have weighed in, defending their apparently joint decision to abandon Europe’s vulnerable Eastern bloc nations to Russian firepower.
However, we have not yet heard a peep from the third pillar of current American foreign policy: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The removal of missile defense has broad – and potentially ominous – diplomatic implications for America’s relationship with dozens of allies.
So why has Hillary stashed away her tough tongue?
Well, between Hillary and Obama, Hillary has always been the more hawkish of the two. He is a notorious feel-good gad handler, while she is infamously strong and ruthless.
During their epic primary campaign, she ran to the right of him on foreign policy – even ridiculing him for his silly (and now abandoned) plan to meet with the leaders of the Iranian theocracy for unilateral talks in his first year as President.
She also, without blinking, threatened to “obliterate” Iran if they attempt to bomb Israel.
Mrs. Clinton’s deafening silence on the latest Obama foreign policy shocker gives the general feeling that America’s Iron Butterfly is probably not happy about Obama’s regression on European missile defense.
Call me crazy, but this is probably not Hillary's favorite thing Obama and Gates have ever done. She probably sees it as the exact opposite of the "smart power" doctrine she has been preaching as head of the State Department.
In fact, she is probably wishing she could obliterate the weak-in-chief sitting at her desk in the Oval Office.

I was wondering the same! What she has said on Iran this week, seems to be hidden
behind the You lie Movement.
