I don't know if the renting of ones e-mail list can be considered support for a candidate, but never the less this little tidbit is interesting information.

Denish rented Clinton campaign list

By MATTHEW REICHBACH 10/16/09 6:13 AM

According to Politico, the gubernatorial campaign of Lt. Gov. Diane Denish rented the campaign list of Hillary Clinton. Clinton, now Secretary of State, ran for President in the Democratic primary last year.

According to the Federal Election Commission report, the Committee To Elect Diane Denish, Inc. paid $1,431.40 for the list of e-mail addresses for Clinton supporters in New Mexico.

Denish supported Clinton and was the chairwoman for Clinton’s New Mexico campaign. Clinton won the caucus in New Mexico during the Democratic primary.

Denish is currently the only announced Democratic candidate for governor.

Denish was not the only candidate to rent the e-mail list, according to Politico:

Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota; Reps. Artur Davis of Alabama (a candidate for governor), Paul Hodes of New Hampshire (who’s running for Senate) Mary Jo Kilroy of Ohio; New Mexico Lt. Gov. Diane Denish (who’s running for governor), Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter and Houston Mayor Bill White (who’s raising money for a Senate bid).

For me, a lifelong Dem until last year (now unaffiliated), it's hard to get mad at Hillary for helping other Dems get elected.  Surely some of them still follow Dem principles - oh, except for following the Constitution.

As someone who has worked to Get Out The Vote for Dems, I'm not getting hepped up.

I'm not mad at her or the fact that the lists are "rented" out... it is politics. I just think it is interesting to see who she or her people decided who to rent the lists to. I don't know if it means those candidates have their support or if it is just a business decision. However it is interesting to know.

If Hillary decides to jump back into the game again (either in 2012 or 2016), she will need allies within the Democratic Party and this is one way to build up these alliances (and make a few bucks in the process). I know some folks like the idea of her running as an Independent, but that ain't gonna happen. She either has to work within the system or not do it at all. And if she's making deals with Dems who supported her in the primaries, then I'm totally cool with that for sure. (Excuse me for sounding like a Valley Girl.)

Well, I, like.. totally agree, Jen.  lol.  Hillary's a realist and a pragmatists.  While, we're able to vent and discuss our outrage and disappointment with the Dems and Obama, she has to do the politically expedient thing, and not burn bridges.  I think there's little chance of an Indy run, as well.

I bet you she only rents her email lists out to her supporters.
