US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came face to face with Pakistani women representing different segments of society at a Town Hall session held at the National Art Gallery here on Friday.
From water to nuclear issue, from Kashmir to Kerry-Lugar Law, from Black Water to security blocks, Hillary had to defend her country’s position on all crucial issues to a large gathering of women from from all provinces of Pakistan.
Before the Town Hall session, Hillary Clinton met a ‘jirga’ of political and social activists, academics, students and common people from tribal areas of NWFP and Balochistan in a bid to share issues of common interest.
Hillary is wise to connect with the citizens of Pakistan, especially the women. No doubt they were impressed by her competence as well as her compassion and support of women. I'm glad she mentioned Bhutto, and reminded the crowd of her sacrifice for their country.
