Hillbuzz has lots of thoughts on Hillary, her motivations, and her ambitions for the future.
Governor Paterson asked directly if Hillary Clinton is running for Governor of New York in 2010

The New York Daily News calls this “pie in the sky” speculation, but reporters asked Governor Paterson today what he would do if Hillary Clinton decided she wanted to be Governor of New York in 2010.
Paterson never addressed this, directly, but said he’s tired of people coming up with various hypothetical situations and asking him what he’d do.
He didn’t say Clinton’s NOT running for Governor…only that “three or four things would need to happen that haven’t happened yet for that to even be possible”.
The article notes that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who would be the one most likely to primary challenge Paterson, is loyal to the Clintons and would, thus, presumably do what Clinton says.
There are legions of people all over this country who want nothing more than for Hillary Clinton to get back into politics and run for office again — strictly in the executive branch.
There w  ere three main reasons for Clinton taking the Secretary of State position, in order:
(1) To get her out of the Senate so she wouldn’t have vote for any of the garbage Democrats are trying to force through right now (because, if you think her Iraq Vote hurt her, just imagine what flak she’d take in the future when Americans wake up and hold everyone in today’s Congress accountable for what they have been doing).
(2) To show Liberals she is a “team player” and remove any animosity they have towards her. One of the things we try to walk a fine line on is our feelings towards Liberals…who we think are crazy people that need to be stopped and whom we have grown to truly hate after the way they’ve behaved the last two years. Clinton, however, knows she needs these crackpots in the future. She could never win a general election without the Liberals behind her…the way John McCain lost when conservatives sat their butts home in 2008. Being part of the Utopia Administration, while spending most of her time overseas looking presidential, qualifies Clinton as a “team player” and makes the great majority of Democrats forget there was any bad blood between her and the current president. No one can ever claim Clinton is not a good Democrat and team player…and even Republicans note she is the Dick Cheney of this administration, a grown-up doing her level best to hold the world together while other are running amuck.
(3) To bulk up her foreign policy credentials so she wouldn’t have to rely on First Lady experience anymore. The position also put her fourth in line to the presidency, after the Vice President and Speaker of the House. It truly established her as the greatest and most accomplished First Lady of the United States in history…as Eleanor Roosevelt, the former most accomplished FLOTUS, was never elected to office, never made a Cabinet member, and never part of the line of succession. Clinton’s mother, Dorothy, is in her 90s. Clinton is only 61. We’ve hopefully got another 30 years of Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton topping herself, achieving even more.
Being Secretary of State is much more than just being Secretary of State…it’s about transcending to a whole new level entirely. Soon, Clinton will have been a United States Senator and Cabinet Member longer than she served as FLOTUS. The new generation of voters will not even remember her days in the White House, but see her on the news every day meeting with heads of state and representing the US abroad. We are so far removed from the old Gingrich taunts of “nobody ever elected her to a damn thing” that they might as well be written in hieroglyphs.
We don’t see any reason Clinton wouldn’t want to run for Governor of New York, now that she’s been Secretary of State…since Dr. Utopia himself proved it does not matter how long someone stays in a job, but the mere fact he or she held that job, before moving on to another office. Dr. Utopia started running for president in 2004, before he even won his Senate seat.
We believe Hillary Clinton never stopped running for president, and the reason her supporters are staying together and continue to hone their skills and prep for a future run is because there will very much be another run.
Democrats are going to be clobbered in 2010…CLOBBERED…so that’s the real fly in the ointment. Would Clinton leave State and try to run in New York for Governor if she sees the tidal wave coming to sweep Dems out of office?
THAT’S not likely.
But, will she stay in Utopia’s administration as it sinks and, we believe, completely falls of its rails after the 2010 midterm defeat?
THAT’S not likely either.
She’d make one Hell of a Governor for New York, but in our gut we think Guiliani will win it if he’s serious about running an actual campaign this time (and if the MSM doesn’t talk too much about the terrible things his wife did to puppies while a surgical suture rep…trust us, you don’t want to know, but read the old Vanity Fair profile on her if you do).
Republicans seem poised to come up with a real narrative for 2010, and something like a new Contract With America that will capture America’s attention. Article after article we’re reading today says the electorate is so terrified of the economy, of the rampant unemployment, of losing everything, that voters are going to look for strong leadership in 2010 and beyond.
Clinton has the opportunity to do something to leave the Utopia Administration and become a rallying point of her own — if she wants that.
If she doesn’t, Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson are the two people we think could become that rallying point on the Republican side.
Independents and moderates are going to look for a leader…and that won’t be the discredited Dr. Utopia and his Leftist loons.
If, as we believe, Dr. Utopia announces his Parkinson’s sometime in late 2010 or 2011, then Hillary Clinton will indeed run for the nomination again…and she alone could be the Democrat to win as America would be inclined to dump Dems and head over to Palin or Thompson.
www.Hillaryis44.com, one of our favorite sites, believes Clinton will be the leader people will turn to, and believes Clinton will be the next Dem nominee.
As Paterson says, “three or four things that haven’t happen would need to happen” before that could be a reality.
But, the notion of “Hillary’s Army” remaining active, waiting in winter quarters, and every day strengthening our resolve and political skills in the name of our champ is real.
It would be worth sitting down, maybe over the weekend, to sketch out a flowchart of the different scenarios that could put Clinton into the White House in January 2013.  There are certainly more of those than there are paths to a second term for Dr. Utopia, at the rate he and Nancy Pelois, in particular, are going.
