The earthquake in Haiti is the biggest they have seen since 1777. More than a million deaths is the current estimate.

Yes, CGI has fundraisng drive in progress.  I posted the email I received (removing my name and email address from all spots of course) in Main room.

I also called CGI this afternoon and have offered to volunteer from home; they dont know what to do with someone who can volunteer from home.. well, I don't know either, but they have my info.  There may be some local fundraising/getting the word out, whatever.  They have asked me to formally apply via clintonfoundation.org - will do that.  I also visited State.gov site to see if there are opportunities to volunteer.

Our local churches usually do various collections and drives. There may be such opportunities locally for all of you.  Please do find out.

Haiti's situation is probably the worst humanitarian disaster that we will see in our lifetime on this side of the earth. I hope we can all open our hearts, wallets and closets for the people.
