This article is from People Magazine's website, but the original source is the National Enquirer. But they were right about the Edwards affair, so who knows?
“The president refuses to believe Oprah would turn on him, but Michelle says her sources overheard conversations in which Oprah promised she would throw her money and influence behind Hillary if she decides to run.”
The source said Michelle believes Oprah wanted to be repaid for her endorsement of Barack by becoming an unelected advisor to the President, his staff and the first family, and Oprah believes she was pivotal in the President’s election.
“Instead she has been invited only three times [to the White House], and two of them were for interviews.
“Although Michelle appreciates that Oprah endorsed her husband, she considers her role minor. And the first lady resents that Oprah flirted with Barack – trying to make people think she was way closer to him than she really was.
“Michelle knew they weren’t having an affair, but it was as though Oprah wanted people to wonder,” said the source.
During Oprah’s initial White House interview with the first lady Michelle, there was visible tension between the two, and Oprah left “seething,” according to the source.
“Oprah has admitted to friends she feels betrayed and used. She has never supported a politician before and expected at least to be respected.
“Hillary immediately picked up on what was going on and made a move to win over Oprah. They quickly bonded and became good friends.
“Now Oprah wishes she had thrown her support to Hillary in the primaries.”
“But Barack subscribes to the idea you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer – and gave Hillary the job [Secretary of State] despite Michelle’s angry protests. Now Michelle is doing a major ‘told you so.’
“She is insisting Hillary be fired and Oprah banned permanently from the White House.
“Barack is very reluctant to start a war with the two women, especially with all the other problems he has on his plate. But Michelle is spoiling for a fight and says if he won’t confront the two ‘plotters,’ as she calls them, she will!
“Hillary and Oprah are certainly not shy about taking on the first lady. If Michelle wants a fight, they will happily step into the ring with her.”
Hillary Clinton will challenge President Obama in the forthcoming primaries for the 2012 election if his popularity continues to decline according to the source.
Perhaps Oprah would like to get her audience back, and she's going to try listening to them now.
I think this may be closer to the mark. Her ratings, and frankly, her personal appeal as a supporter of women, took a major hit in 2008 when she backed Barack. She showed where her priorities were. Nothing wrong with that but she built her wealth on the backs of all women and basically let them down when we had our most opportune moment.
I don't really get involved with much of the tabloid stuff.
remeber okra's jim frey endorsement, well, with the Marxist, its Jim frey part 2
I hope okra loses lots of money as she retires her show, she is the main reason that america-loathing moron is inflicting all the damage on America
I don't watch okra.... she made her billions off women, and then when the first qualified woman, hillary comes along, she backstabs her, and then when another woman comes along, sarah, she doesn't even do the very least to defend sarah or hillary against sexism bashing.
I'm pretty much with you, Ssmith. I recall the mocking, insulting remarks Oprah made at her Obamathon mega fundraiser when asked how she thought her women viewers would feel about her backing a man over a woman. Pastor Manning posted the vid during 2008 primary. It was clear she didn't care what the women thought, and her mocking tone, using some kind of Valley Girl accent, as she basically dismissed her female followers as irrelevant, really pissed me off.
Oprah has convinced herself that she is the supreme authority on all things. She dispenses medical, spiritual, relationship (and on and on) advice to the masses. Yet, she badly misjudged Obama's readiness/ability to be president. Of course, she was not all that interested in his competence - only in his race and his star power.
And, then there's MO - what an insecure, angry woman. Knowing the excellent job HIllary is doing as SOS, MO's push to have her fired - if indeed it's true - is proof that she could not care less about the well-being of this country.

the think that surprised me the most is how stunned OKRA seemed to be when all her viewers left her.
She pissed off Hillary voters, and then she pissed of Sarah voters... and that's pretty much most women.
and then Okra acts like stunned that she lost all these viewers who had been wathcing her show and buying her $hit for years.
This is why she cancelled her show, no one buys the crap she sells. Okra for women?? yea right! Okra is for Okra... just like the Marxist is for the Marxist
Good Lord! The ideal that it is time to pit women against women, and I mean powerful women, at this time just drives me ten times crazy. What are they thinking that women in politics, and the current issues are in shortage, so let's play women against women.
The woman who gets it, is the woman who is the defender and fighter of democracy, and that is Hillary. She knows how the media creates more hostility against women, and she isn't about to faint over this now.
I'm not going to play catch on this game, my hero is Hillary, she is more capable than the other two. Oprah and Michelle appear to be cooking something, and I don't think they know what's cooking. Just look at Michelle garden, just look at Oprah's chef........
Just wanted to say hi from my travels. Hope everyone is well and hope to talk to you all again soon.
Hi Emi, thanks for stopping by. Be safe.

I take stuff like this with a grain of salt. Oprah may want to repair her image with women by backing Hillary, but it would be a waste of money frankly.
I really don't think she can undo the damage. As I said before, it is her right as an American to back who she wants, but by the same token, as one who made a career out of espousing the empowerment of women and then did her best to dis-empower our first viable, reliable and worthy candidate to be POTUS, she has to live with the fallout.
This is not pitting women against women. I think we are at a point where we as women want to be represented by our best....not support a woman simply because she is a woman. We women had our BEST run in 2008. Oprah made her CHOICE not to support her. All choices in life have consequences.
She was going to have a backlash no matter which candidate she backed in the primary of 2008. Her real mistake was not doing what she has always done before and that was to stay neutral. I think this more than anything is why she has suffered the loss of viewership.

Funny thing is Maya Angleou supported Hillary despite the fact that her audience is primarially African Americans yet she was able to make her choice and not lose her key audience she did so by supporting Hillary and not attacking Obama. She not only kept her core audience but gained a whole new audience. Oprah should have either backed Obama yet had everyone on her show and been fair. I think that would have been better for her but she did what she did and now she regreats it.
I agree, Hmg. Oprah could have backed Obama without being so damn obnoxious. She could have been more respectful of the women who have supported her all these years.. She didn't have to have a giant fundraiser extravaganza Obamaloopa blow out. She showed poor judgment and even worse taste.

And that is why she maintained her audience. Oprah took her own sense of self-importance too far and it rubbed many the wrong way. Oprah has not the level of graciousness that Ms. Angelou has.
