Attemptting to ride the wave of GOP optimism sparked by Scott Brown's stunning win in the Massachusetts special senate election, Mark Kirk stormed through Capitol Hill Friday promising success in his homestate.

"Illinois is next," Kirk said as he walked through reporters gathered around Senator John Mccain's office to meet with Brown and other Republican hopefuls, to find a way to tap into his magic, according to Politico.

Congressman Mark Kirk is the GOP front-runner for President Obama’s old senate seat and he could use a little magic to win in a solidly blue state. Brown managed a Republican win in perhaps the most liberal state in the union, claiming the seat held by Ted Kennedy for 46 years.

Kirk was non-committal about having Sarah Palin stump for him last year, but he'd certainly welcome a campaign endorsement from Senator-elect Brown, who's Q-rating is sky-high.

In fact, he's doing everything he can to link himself to that shocking win.
