A potential Democratic primary to replace Hillary Clinton still looks wide open, with 40% of voters saying in today’s Quinnipiac poll they have no idea who to back among Kirsten Gillibrand, Jonathan Tasini and Harold Ford.
Gillibrand is maintaining a big lead on Ford and the liberal Tasini, topping them 36% to 18% to 4% for Tasini.

There are some small signs for Gillibrand that she’s getting a little traction, though. The best is probably that her approval rating is up to 42%, while her disapproval number remains much lower, at 28%.
Ford’s big problems are that 70% of people don’t know him, and of those who do, opinions are divided at 16% favorable, 13% unfavorable.

“Right now, the Senate race matches the little-known Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand against largely unknown Harold Ford and almost totally unknown Bruce Blakeman,” Carroll said.
