When an incumbent Senator in the majority party feels the need to distance herself from the leadership, that’s got to hurt.
But that’s what Senator Blanche Lincoln is doing. She was a Hillary Democrat who did not want Obama in office in the first place.
Now she’s seeing her ties to the Obamacratic establishment dragging her poll numbers down in her Senate re-election bid this year.
She’s even getting a primary challenge from the Daily Kos, MoveOn left – which intends to do to Lincoln what they did to Hillary in 2008.
Rather than embrace the Obamcrats – who have already raised millions for her liberal primary opponent – Lincoln is smartly running far, far away from them.
That said, she is in major trouble in her re-election bid. Her numbers have been in the gutter for a long long while. I hope it improves. I have not seen the numbers in a few days..

Lincoln’s anti-Obama ad will surely not play well with primary voters, who may send her sure loser challenger to the general election instead. But Lincoln has apparently decided to slap the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine in the face and let the chips fall where they may.
Thank you, Senator Lincoln, for doing what so many of us would like to do to the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine.
I think we need an action thread for Blanche Lincoln. With Daily Kos working against her, Bill Clinton endorsing her, and her willingness to call the party out, she seems like the kind of person we should be working for.
Great Article, Jen. I love D.K. Jamaal. He's one cool PUMA.

We can do that. We can support candidates. I would like to see the Clintonistas survive

I agree with you 100% Freespirit.......This is one strong woman who is not going to lay down and just go along.......you have to give her a whole lot of credit for speaking out against the Party at the risk of losing her Senate seat. I have a feeling as time goes on we will see others take a stand too. IMO, it's going to get really interesting guys and gals! Hat's off to Senator Lincoln!
LOL. I have always admired D.K.Jamaal... and never knew this is a woman! Go figure.
Very strong writer and I really appreciate her perspective. :)
And, yes, I hope Senator Blanche Lincoln fares well.. despite all issues she has had with the electorate.
In many ways all the noise from the electorate has not served the centrists well. It is the centrists who got compromised I believe because the bills are a hodgepodge of extreme ideologies and not middle of the road compromises.
freespirit, An action thread for Sen.Blanche Lincoln is a great idea. Yes, she was a staunch Clintonista and could probably use our support.
