Look for more retirements from the Senate yet this year, Sen. George LeMieux (R-Fla.) said Friday.

LeMieux, during an appearance on CNBC, said he expected more of his colleages announce their retirements in the months to come.

"We've seen a lot of my colleagues in the Senate say they're not going to run for reelection," LeMieux said. "You're going to see more of that as the election grows near."

LeMieux's own Senate seat is up for grabs in this fall's election. The senator was appointed to fill a vacancy left by Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.), who resigned.

Gov. Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio are in a bruising GOP primary to replace LeMieux, the winner of which will face off against Rep. Kendrick Meek (D).

Five Democratic senators have already announced their retirement this cycle, and others -- including Sens. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Michael Bennet (Colo.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Arlen Specter (Pa.), Russ Feingold (Wis.), and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) -- are facing tough reelection challenges that could still prompt retirements.

On the Republican side, six GOP senators have opted to retire, many of them in key swing states.

LeMieux said he expected those members' healthcare votes to play a big role in their political fortunes going forward.

"It's going to be tough times for some of these folks who voted for the healthcare bill," he said."

Of the Dems in tough races, I so hope Blanche Lincoln wins.  She has stood by the Clintons, and they have stood by her.  It's not looking great for her, though, and the Obamacrats are pushing their own candidate to beat her in the primary - because she stood up to them.  Obviously, it would be like wonderful to see Harry defeated - really, really wonderful.
