No Room for Hillary Clinton in Time's most influential list (Belfast Telegraph 4/30/10)

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has failed to make Time magazine's 'most influential' list, which includes other high-profile women such as Kathryn Bigelow or Lady Gaga.

The decision was somewhat perplexing, since she has previously featured on the list five times, and by her own lofty standards is enjoying one of the most successful and high-profile periods of her political career. Already this year, she has made 11 foreign trips, and was an architect of the "Start" nuclear reduction treaty signed by the US and Russia this month.

It is a very glarring omission and sickening since she did a write up on Pelosi.

What an outrage. This has to be deliberate - Hill has been entirely too successful, and is getting too powerful. Lord knows, the media and the super-libs can't stand that. Time to do damage control - or every one in the country might recognize that she's the best hope for America - and was from the beginning.

Lady Ga Ga?! Well, hell, of course people considered for the position of most influential person, obviously, should be rock stars. Lady Ga Ga's accomplishments: Sings well, sells records, dresses wild. Hillary's accomplishments: Successful world peace efforts, promoting women's rights and independence, preventing or resolving disputes between sovereign nations, working to keep this country strong and safe, representing her country and the cause of human rights (among many others) across the planet.

Why there's no contest. What were we thinking?! Of course Lady Ga Ga deserves to be on this list. Hillary, not so much. Because in America we obviously value flashy, oddly dressed women in stilettos, dancing and singing - to a powerful, intelligent, woman - a world class stateswoman, who has served this country tirelessly in various positions for many years. And, in the process she has earned the respect and admiration of everyone with whom she has worked -

I wouldn't put Hillary on that list - oh hell no. Give it to someone deserving. If Lady Ga Ga declines her spot on the list, maybe Joy Behar can take time off from doing PR for Obama during that POS she calls a television news program - and observe her rightful place as one of the most influential persons - alongside Minnin Mouse.

It's silly when these magazines put entertainers and world leaders on the same list, unless the entertainer is someone like Bono or Angelina Jolie who are known for extraordinary humanitarian work.
