Arlen Specter just popped. You never know in politics, but based on my experience in watching polling trends, only a mid-May blizzard or some other freak phenominon of nature can at this point prevent the five-term senator from losing the Democratic primary to Rep. Joe Sestak of Delaware County, one week from tomorrow. Over the next week, you will see some remarkably nasty attack ads from Team Specter and intensive campaigng from his erstwhile East Falls neighbor Ed Rendell and maybe even from Barack Obama, although if anyone on the Democratic side has any common sense (heh) they will allow the president to save face by announcing that he's busy dealing with some crisis in D.C., since there are so many to choose from. None of this will work. Specter has already thrown the dirty-ad kitchen sink at Sestak.
Besides, as luck would have it it is Specter's worst nightmare.. Kagan gets appointed and will go through nomination hearing just around the corner from the primary. Specter has been tooting his experience horn... but with this kind of experience he might want to stop tooting! lol

I don't think many folks will be surprised by Specter's impending demise. What is surprising, IMO, is that Specter didn't see it before he made the last minute switch, and supported the so-called Health Care Reform. Maybe his own polling data provided him with some clue, unknown to the rest of us, which gave him encouragement. My sense is that Arlen's going down.
I'm very fond of posting Queen singing "Another One Bites the Dust" each time another Obamacrat gets tossed under the bus; every time an Obot gets a clue, and calls out The One for broken promises; and every time a liberal Dem candidate for senate or congress loses.
I gave a feeling that Queen is gonna be very busy in the coming weeks. lol

Barack Obama just handed Sestak his "close the deal" ad today with his SCOTUS nominee. Specter, still a Republican, voted AGAINST her current position. He will be squirming to get out of this one and Sestak will have a field day with it.
Never thought I would say this, but thank you President Obama for sealing the deal.
Lets see what happens? I bet if he loses the Primary he runs as an Independent. Sestak turned nasty and turned me off he should have let Spector stay in the mud by himself. I m forced to vote because of my state Senator whom I love is up for reelection but I am not sure if I am voting for house or Senate I do not plan to vote for any Democrat or anyone else who voted for this health care plan. I plan to vote for Toomey. I think the Democrats need to be taught a lesson. I am sick of Politicians doing what the hell they want when the majority of people are against something you don't make it a law.
