I Know we had a thread on this, back in Jan. or Feb., but in view of the predicted smack down of the Dems in November, I thought we might want to revisit the "you have me" declaration.  This one statement by His Arrogance is reason enough to celebrate if the Pubs take over the house and senate.  I know... we don't need the Pubs taking over, as some on this forum have said.  I also know that if that happens, Obama may be able to gain some traction in 2012 by blaming the Pubs for his failures as Potus.  Still, this man needs a strong reminder that this is still America - in spite of his efforts to transform the country (and not in a good way), and not even the self-important, entitled Obama gets a pass all the time.

Berry: Obama said "big difference" between '10 and '94 is "me"

Rep. Marion Berry's parting shot, published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette [no link, subscription only] offers a warning to moderate Democrats and border state moderates — warning of a midterm bloodbath comparable to the 54-seat D-to-R swing in 1994.
But the jaw-dropper is Berry's claim that President Obama personally dismissed any comparison between Democrats now and under Bill Clinton 16 years ago — by saying his personal popularity would bail everybody out.
The retiring Berry, who doesn't say when the remarks were made, now scoffs at Obama's 50-or-below approval rating:
Writes ADG reporter Jane Fullerton:
Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs “off into that swamp” of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.

“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.” [snip]

Obama will be a big difference, but he has a ton of help from Pelosi and Reid.  The Dems will get clobbered in November....frankly, as they should.  Here in PA, both the Senate and Governor slots are double-digit for the Republican candidates.

This nation is suffering from a severe case of "careful what you wish, for you may surely get it."

BTW, as a side note, I am not the least bit surprised Oprah is calling it quits this year.  She completely damaged her "brand" with her support for Obama.  Women have realized that Oprah only supports women when it is convenient for her.  No wonder her ratings have taken such a huge hit in the time since the 2008 primaries.

Ellen DeGeneres on the other hand keeps on keeping on...

He will eat those words, indeed, Amy - well, unless there are some very irregular election practices, which, as we know all too well, would not be surprising for O.

Remember during the 2008 campaign when we sent various cards and items to the Dems? I specifically remember sending sympathy cards to commemorate the "death of democracy" after the RBC ruling. We also sent shoes on another occasion. It might be appropriate to send individual packets of salt and pepper for use by Obama when he is forced to, as Amy described it, "eat his words". lol
