Despite repeated and emphatic denials, Martha's Vineyard continues to buzz about a possible Chelsea Clinton wedding.

Some islanders insist the former first daughter is getting married to boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky, and the ceremony could take place this weekend on exclusive Black Point Beach in Chilmark.

Rumored guests include former presidents George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush,Jimmy Carter, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and President Barack Obama, who isn't scheduled to begin his vacation on Martha's Vineyard until Sunday.

Earlier this week, Matthew McKenna, a spokesman for former president Bill Clinton, tried to tamp down the wedding talk, wagering $1,000 that it wouldn't happen. In an email last night, McKenna tried again. "Let it go," he wrote.

John Alley, former owner of Alley's General Store in West Tisbury, said he wouldn't be surprised if it happened, but thinks it's unlikely, at least this weekend.

Bermuda, U.S. coast are warned as Bill approaches

The Category 2 hurricane had maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami. Forecasters said the hurricane could regain intensity over the weekend as its center passes between Bermuda and the eastern U.S. seaboard.

Tourists gathered at Bermuda's pink sand beaches to watch the powerful surf. Many shrugged off the threat of the approaching storm, but it apparently cut short a beachfront vacation for U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

On the eastern U.S. coast, offshore waves of 20 feet or more and rip currents at the beach are expected over one of the summer's last weekends.Forecasters warned boaters and swimmers from northeastern Florida to New England of incoming swells, as Bill passes far out to sea on a northward track toward Canada's Maritime provinces.

Bill was forecast to bring 1 to 3 inches of rain to Bermuda, with up to 5 inches in some areas.

Fyoof!  I was worried about our girl Hill when I heard Hurricane Bill was heading there.  I wouldn't have had a care if I had known Bill was with her.wink
