President Obama's address Wednesday to Congress was greeted warmly with applause from Democrats, but also some disruptions, including one moment in which a congressman accused Obama of lying.South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants.Wilson's outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech. Overhead in the visitors' gallery, first Lady Michelle Obama shook her head from side to side.Obama's speech also drew some cheers from Republicans, primarily when he spoke of tort reform.President Clinton also faced critical Republicans when he addressed Congress on health care reform in 1993. For example, they laughed at a remark about using Congress' deficit projections."Well, you can laugh, my fellow Republicans, but I will point out that the Congressional Budget Office is normally more conservative," Clinton said.House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasn't immediately aware who yelled "you lie" during Obama's speech, but she told FOX News that she would not move to sanction anyone for it.The Associated Press contributed to this report.

WOW! That's really unbelievable. I gotta say, I agree with Wilson, but I'm not really sure his yelling out like that was a good idea. Regardless of what we think of Obamalam - he is the fraudulently elected POTUS, and the OFFICE, if not the man, are deserving of more respect than that, imo.
But, more importantly, Obama's in a pretty iffy position with regard to approval, number of supporters, etc. Obviously, the poll numbers aren't looking good for him, but we all know that things can turn on a dime in politics. If in order to compensate for the lack of critical appraisal of O and his qualifications prior to election, people treat him with disrespect or in inappropriate ways, MSM will have a damn field day drumming up compassion and sympathy for their guy. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but given MSM's love affair with Obama, and the ability he has (with the help of MSM and his political machine) to remain the smooth talking Rock Star, taking no blame or responsibility, I do not put anything past this guy.
I'm just saying - we need to be smart and cautious. Given enough rope, he'll hang himself. If people go overboard, MSM will rescue him again.

Did anyone notice the man in the audience that was raising his hand, as they do in church toward Obama? It made be think that he was worshiping BO. I was watching on Fox News and they did a camera shot behind this guy as he was doing it. Weird.
With total respect for your opinion, FreeSpirit, I think this was GREAT! We need to take down this SOB, who is ruining our country, and we need to do it now! Sitting by politely is only going to encourage and allow Obama and his minions to steal more, lie more, and screw up America more. Bravo, Senator Wilson!!
Also, I believe what this particular action will do is take down the usurper in people's eyes, and make them ask questions and look into him more. And we know what happens when the truth is revealed - it shall set us free.
Is that an EVIL look on his face or WHAT?

Thanks for respectful disagreement and debate - we need it. I agree with you - we must raise hell and make some noise - too much at stake to sit quietly by. I tend to think that our sens and reps need to be a little more reserved in their conduct - and that they'll be much more effective in opposing O if they are open in their disagreement, even passionate about it in their speeches and other efforts. But, I may be wrong about this. Maybe desperate times call for desperate measures.
Regardless, I do appreciate your honest disagreement. IMO it is imperative that we have honest dialogue - challenging opinions, making our arguments - it's the only way we can be really effective.

I love that we specialize in respectful disagreement here in Hillary's World. And I would just like to add that the speech situation reminds me of the Continental Congress. The parallel is that we are trying to deal with a huge faction of the country that wants to just turn it over to those that would try to change our basic American principles of honesty, hard work, and patriotism to lies, laziness, and disloyalty to the United States.
People at the Continental Congress got heated, then they got to work separating from England, who told them, "We'll do what we want with you!" Well, the Tories found out the hard way that no, they didn't have that right or that capacity, and I'm sure the Minutemen didn't rebel very politely. Well, they might have, at first. But then, when they were ignored or badly treated, they gave as good as they got!
Thanks for your post.

Last night was my first time listening to that fool. When that man shouted "LIE"! i was proud. Sure it violates decorum, but one man had the courage to say screw this crap and stood up. It has to start with somebody.
I'm glad he did it. The Democrats needn't act like they never booed Bush.
I am sorry that he apologized. He had nothing to apologize for, and the Republicans should look back to the election and look at how McCain's poll numbers dropped every time McCain wimped out and said obama was a nice guy.
And, since when is Congress some kind of place where there are supposed to be no disagreements? The history of our Congress has some very volatile moments in it, even when the president was present.
Just because you're the president doesn't mean you can't be called to the carpet when you are LYING through your teeth.

I'm glad that Congressman Wilson had the courage of his convictions and called BHO out in a most public way. It reminds me of Harriet Christian speaking out after the outrage of the RBC meeting May 31 in Washington, DC.
It lets people know that even though the MSM tries to paint a pretty picture of BHO the emperor those in the know understand that you can't believe anything he says.
