In answer to a question from Newsweek about statements he previously made with regard to Obama's eligibility, he stated: "What I said was, to answer a question from Chris Matthews, I said: 'Why wouldn't the president of the United States show the American people his birth certificate?' You have to show a birth certificate to play little league baseball. It's a question that should be answered. It's in the Constitution that you have to be a natural-born citizen of the United States to be president."
Asked whether be believed Obama was a citizen, DeLay responded: "I have no idea."
BTW, has anybody else been watching Dancing With the Stars lately? Tom DeLay is doing pretty well, considering he has a stress fracture in both feet. I even know some liberals who phoned in and voted for him.
Okay, you can add Tom DeLay to the list of people who have never seen Obama's long form birth certificate. How would he really know whether Obama was constitutionally eligible if he's been elected POTUS despite this?
I've been watching that reality tv show just to see him dancing. He IS surprisingly good, never thought of him that way before, as artistic.
Very true, if he's not legit, he must quit. (I thought I had that old MC Hammer song in my iTunes library, but I just checked and I don't.)
What's most significant about Tom DeLay's remarks is that they're coming from a high-profile politician who is currently appearing on a very mainstream TV show. That's exactly what the eligibility movement needs. (Notice I didn't use the word "birther.")

Jen, I didn't even think of that song! I don't know where these dream things come from, but they've been helpful from time to time. I do remember the song, though. Here's a copy from YouTube:
