Why This African American is Offended by The Nobel Peace Prize being Awarded to Obama

I don't think they gave him the prize simply because he had black skin. I think they are trying to influence our foreign policy, specifically to keep us from sending more troops to Afghanistan and not taking on Iran. O is in a tight spot now, how can he do either with the Peace prize? I strongly object to interference on our foreign policy by outside forces. I just wonder if O actually has the guts to do what is right at risk of losing his Nobel?

Welll from this African American's perspective they are already calling him the affirmative action president this award doesn't help him. He knows he doesn't deserve it the world knows he doesn't deserve it. I guess he has done the next best thing to turning it down giving the money to charity. The world now knows that the nobel peace prize has lost its meaning.

And I just thought of something funny:

They wanted to give it to him before he screwed up SO BADLY that they plainly couldn't, or before he straight up got kicked out of office! biggrin

Or maybe they felt sorry for him because of the Olympics thing. hmm

Don't know that it was because he's black...haven't they already given it to a lot of black people?

Agreed. I think it was more about manipulating our Foreign Policy as well as Bush derangement syndrome taken to the ludicrous extreme.

As arrogant as Obama is I imagine he has to feel some embarrasment. I don't think he realizes that he would gain much more respect if he politely declined the award ...it's been done before ...only once.

I have to very respectfully disagree, Captain. From the narcissism I've seen from Barry, he "knows" beyond a shadow of a doubt that he deserves that Nobel and more...he and Michelle both! I'd hate to be their kids, who are no doubt hearing the truth from their school mates.

HMG: you said it perfectly, I'm asian, and I don't want things/awards/jobs given to me as a token... I would find that very insulting..... Dr.King wanted people to EARN things, his main line was that people should NOT be discriminated against because of skin color, religion..etc

but now.. its the reverse, people like that fraud are bing propped up b/c of his skin color.. that is racism as well! they are discriminating against other people who have spent their lives doing something worthwhile.

Dr. King was NOT given a Nobel because he was black, he was given a Nobel because he was fighting so hard for civil rights

I think Dr. King would be embarassed to see that lazy as* fraud get an award as a token...

This is my opinion as well. And he should have politely declined.
