There is one downside to having a Democratic President. If any act of terrorism occurs during his term, the President will be blamed.
It does not work that way when a Republican is in the White House. If the country is attacked, Democrats back the President no matter his party. There was zero (no, none, nada) criticism of George W. Bush by Democrats in the aftermath of 9/11. On the contrary, they rightly fell all over themselves giving Bush support. The common mantra; "As Americans, we stand behind President Bush...."
Those days are over. Republicans would not support President Obama if the terrorist attacks some seem to hope for (see Dick Cheney) take place. They would probably try to impeach him.
I believe there will be no support because of the way BHO and his administration has continually criticized and dismantled security. In fact, they want to put our security on trial. He has distanced our allies, weakened our strength in the world. How many times did we hear during his campaigning how weak and thin our military is? Cut our military and nuclear arms? And, not to forget the apologies all over the world how bad America has been. But now, the world is safe. Bha!!
You bet it will be his fault! And, I'll expect the drive-by media to actually begin to report the news.
The WH continuously berated prior administration policies and extraordinary measures in regard to security. It is indisputable that Pres.Bush and his administration managed to keep the country safe without another attack for good 7 years after 9/11. Against that backdrop the fact that current president is happily away on a beach vacation when we have a real "traffic security breach" and previously a homeland security breach at Ft.Hood... all make it not so great that the WH badmouthed prior administration.
I hope they learn a good lesson fast and put an end to Bush-bashing. No matter what the situation, it does not help to criticize the prior occupant of the Oval office.

stamp that!
I am sick of obama and his weak whining and blaming Bush. This is on obama now and he cannot handle it, or chooses not to.
It is going to blow. The terrorists have become bold because they know obama won't do one damned thing. He may even support them.
He went all over the world apologizing, and nothing infuriated me more. How dare he presume to speak for us all with that ****? My family, career military, has to put up with that disgusting ****, and it is disgusting.
Iran is going to start something and where will obama stand?
Say what you will about Bush-- and he sure took many vacations in his day-- but he would have given this recent attempted terrorist attack the attention it deserves.
