The hundred years' war over national health insurance is coming to an end. Or is it? Even if Congress passes a bill in January, as seems very likely, the fight won't end. While the results of the law play themselves out over the next few years, we will continue to hear charges and countercharges over the virtues and defects of the new system.
If the reform works as intended by expanding health insurance to an additional 30 million Americans and reducing the national debt, the Democrats will pillory the Republicans for the indefinite future. (Emphasis added) The GOP's uniform opposition—only one congressman and no Republican senators supported the bill—will make it vulnerable to charges of wrong-minded thinking about the suffering of fellow citizens on a scale with Herbert Hoover's failed response to the Great Depression. That cost his party five presidential elections.
That's a pretty big IF. From what I have read right here, a good chunk of the 30 million Americans cannot afford the insurance at the cost levels that the policy pundits state it will become available at the lowest income category. So, more improvement is definitely needed.
The real cost of health care on the nation has not gone down; in fact it has gone up with the addition of government "services" into the equation.

This author speaks as if the Dems, particularly Obama, are saintly, compassionate public servants, whose only purpose is to better the lives of the citizens of this country. Yet, the health care reform bill was shrouded in secrecy. Government officials were not even given an opportunity to study and assess all components of the bill. Some senators were bribed with promises of big money to their states in return for their votes. Americans are worried about how this bill will impact an already frightening economy. It seems to me that this author, an obvious Obama-fan, is not looking at all the facts.
Also from the article:
"Nonetheless, Democrats will continue to enjoy their standing as the more compassionate advocates of needy Americans."
The Democrats proved that they have absolutely no regard for female Americans - needy or otherwise. And, that's what many of us will remember come election day.

It is a very glowingly positive article for Pres.Obama. However it is banked on big "if" and very eager to paint a positive picture.
While such gushing was rampant in the early days of presidency, they are fewer and farther in betweens lately... and when they do show up, they are contingent statements. And, I thought was worth noting.
