Consider the example of Bill Clinton. Two years into his presidency, Clinton appeared ruined. Republicans stampeded in the 1994 midterm elections to capture the House and Senate, leaving Clinton to argue for his own relevance. But Clinton understood that the Republicans had benefited from a public perception that he had lurched to the left on healthcare and gays in the military. Clinton began his comeback by forcefully taking on unsympathetic Republican rivals such as Newt Gingrich. But he also "triangulated" http://ow.ly/16m3Gu
A Coakley loss would be a nightmare for Democrats, not only for its symbolism, but because it would imperil the passage at long last of Obama's signature healthcare reform bill.
Absolutely!
Yes, after his first year of Presidency, Pres.Clinton sure did flex to integrate people's feedback. Let's hope Pres.Obama learns from reflecting upon this.

Clinton understood that he needed to work with the Republicans and the result was a sucessful welfare reform law that most people liked. Clinton also became a better President because he had a Republican majority and was still able to get things done. LOL Obama has a Democratic Majority and still can't seem to get things done.

although i must say the few things O has done to court the GOP or is like the GOP has pissed off the left to where they are writing negative things about him (DOMA, Public Option, increased troops..... have caused them I(left) to bitch
to compare Obama to Bill Clinton is an insult to Bill Clinton.
even my very conservative friends say, they hated bill clinton, but at least they knew he [Bill]didnn't loath America and the very foundations America was built on as Obama clearly does.
