Sources: Obama advisers believe Coakley will lose

From CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry

Washington (CNN) - Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley's chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

But White House spokesman Bill Burton told CNN: "The President is in Massachusetts today because he believes Martha Coakley is the right person for the job and indeed will be the next senator from Massachusetts."

The level of confidence from the WH in this is quite interesting.  Given that Scott Brown has gained 30 points in the last two weeks, it is difficult to imagine how he believes she will win.

Now, of course, we know he negotiated with union leaders on the health care deal.. Perhaps unions are campaigning for Martha Coakley... and if they are, that just may push her over the hump.

Note the damage control. They're afraid she's going to lose because of a "series of missteps by the candidate". Oh, yeah. If she loses it will be because she made mistakes. Not because Obama and the Dems have crafted a sorry HCR bill, and kept it as secret as possible while trying to push it through at the speed of light. Heavens no. Barack had nothing to do with it. It is not his fault. Get it, people? Not his fault.

Barry's minions realize that will no longer fly.  That is why this is being called his "make or break moment."

Can you believe what he's gotten away with up to now, that would have been pounced upon ferociously for any other candidate??  Me neither.furious

Even if it's close they'll be beside themselves.  I would definitely watch for some SERIOUS cheating, which, of course, is Barack's speciality!
