Pelosi on MA: GOP Victory 'Doesn't Mean We Won't Have a Health Care Bill'
I noticed Pelosi adding "depending on what happens in Massachusetts"... as an after thought.
Well, I actually agree with Pelosi. The outcome simply decides how the Congress proceeds.
The Senate version is already passed the Senate. So, it leaves tremendous control and influence in the hands of Pelosi. Her option is to pass the senate bill in the House of Reps and then introduce amendments to that bill to bring forth the changes they want to see. But for now, the Senate Bill as passed is the king.
If Coakley wins, the conference and sausage-making will continue.
Of course, the more prudent thing is to scrap what is on the table and start over.. or to majorly integrate people's feedback and Scott Brown's stated Health care platform into the bill.. because that's what people are agreeing to/siding with in contrast to Obamacare a la Senate version.
