Still considering Senate run, Harold Ford Jr. visits Albany

Former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford Jr. was in Albany Monday. He is touring the state as he weighs a possible challenge of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in a Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate. Kaitlyn Ross has the details.
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Harold Ford Jr. is making his rounds in Upstate New York, and his latest stop was the Capitol Region.
The former congressman from Tennessee visited Albany Monday as he continues to mull a possible Democratic primary challenge to U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. He's been touring the state, saying he wants to get to know the people of New York and the issues here before making a decision.
This was Ford's first trip to the area, but he said he plans to continue his tour of upstate in the coming months. He said he plans to make an announcement by the end of February.

Ford recently announced he was taking a 30-day leave of absence from his job as vice chairman of Bank of America-Merrill Lynch.
