The man whose election last month shifted the political landscape yesterday walked down the center aisle of the U.S. Senate and was sworn in as this state’s junior senator.
Scott Brown had been enjoying his victory lap - a weekend thank-you tour, a Barbara Walters interview, an appearance on the Jay Leno Show, local media interviews - all while trying to put together a senatorial staff.
He handled the somewhat prolonged election certification process with patience and with grace - until it became clear that the Senate might actually attempt to conduct some important business during the next week. It was then that Brown - through his legal counsel - demanded the process be expedited, and it was.
