About five hundred Tibetans from New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Charlottsville and Washington DC area celebrated in front of the White House the meeting of HH the Dalai Lama and the American President, Barack Obama. HH the Dalai Lama gave a press conference after meeting with President Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton.

The Dalai Lama receives the Democracy Service Medal  (Feb 19, 2010)

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) presented His Holiness the Dalai Lama with the Democracy Service Medal in recognition of the Tibetan spiritual leaders commitment to advancing the principles of democracy and human dignity on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Library of Congress Coolidge Auditorium.
