"No one who watched the last two weeks of the campaign in Arkansas doubted that the energy was with Lincoln. And that energy was personified by former President Bill Clinton, the most popular figure in Arkansas politics – not just Arkansas Democratic politics but Arkansas politics." http://www.thenation.com/blog/and-winner-bill-clinton
NPR today also mentioned Critz race 2 weeks ago and the race in ME last night. Diane Ream said Clinton gave the clincher speech at a free rally in ME. Her guest Chris Seliza(spelling?) said Clearly Bill Clinton will be the 1 most sought after by dem candidates. His political skill of painting Lincoln as the outsider vs Washington insider was convincing. He said Clinton's political brilliance, not his hometown status in AR, were the reason she won.
I noticed many forgot Bill Clinton supported Lee Fisher in OH who also won 2 weeks ago.
I unsubscribed to "The Nation" when they made it their mission to elect Obama, and as I recall, slammed Hill and Bill. I'm so glad to see this article in that mag. I hope the editors hated having to acknowledge and publish a pro-Bill article. Thanks for posting this Amy.
