Bill and Hillary Clinton spend a lot of time traveling separately, he for his foundation and she in her job as U.S. secretary of state.
But in Bogota, husband and wife crossed paths and managed to enjoy a dinner out together.
The Clintons met with a group of Colombian and American friends for a meal at a Bogota steakhouse across from their hotel, something that would have been too dangerous just a few years ago because of the threat of kidnapping or violence.
Colombian President Alvaro Uribe said the dinner Tuesday night was great publicity for the transformation of his country.
The secretary of state called the meal “wonderful” and said some of the conversation touched on how such a simple pleasure, a night out in the Colombian capital, would have been impossible not long ago.
“We talked about how remarkable it was that such a common event could take place,” she said.
It is remarkable that Columbia is that safe, now. Nice for Bill and HIll to have a few days in the same country, I'm sure.
