Obviously written by someone who isn't a fan of Bill, but it's interesting nonetheless...
Bubba has been circling the light like a smart moth that understands getting too close is not good for months now. He’s strategically jumped in for a fundraiser here or a select candidate there. But he’s keep himself at a distance until … now. Now it is clear that Obama cannot do anything of substance: His perpetual campaign rhetoric is, at best, preaching to the choir. And poll after poll inform us that even the choir intends to stay home and watch another person in disfavor – Oprah – on November 2.
So in rides B.J. Clinton to the rescue. He has absolutely nothing to lose. If the House is retained by the dems, he claims credit. If it’s lost to the pubs, he tells us he “worked harder than he ever has” (except, of course, when he tried to find a middle-class tax cut but couldn’t). Bill Clinton is the best placed democrat in the 2010 midterm election.
So what happens after election day? B.J. gives us his sermon on the outcome – good, bad, or indifferent – and then disappears for a few months. The stage then belongs to Hillary.
Hillary has Jerusalem with which to deal, which will be resolved quite to the vocal dismay of someone – Jews or Arabs, someone will detest the outcome. Ah, but remember Hillary’s role: Obama kept her out of the mix for all of the formation stage, opting instead for George Mitchell presumably based upon his success with The Troubles up in Ireland. Gee, for those of us that know what “26 + 6 = 1” means, we know full well that Northern Ireland was a completed issue well before Mitchell showed up to fold the napkins and polish the tea cups. Sinn Fein had long since become a political organization, and the Catholic v. Protestant birth rates spelled electoral victory for the Irish over the English interlopers within a few short years.
Hillary has the perfect situation: She claims credit for Middle East success, and can point a finger away from herself in the event of failure.
The Clintons are in a perfect position for Hillary 2012. I wonder how much of this has dawned on Barry. Naturally enough, Rahm has lost interest and speaks only of Chicago these days.
It really must suck to be played like a cheap fiddle, eh, Barry?

While this is true, the Clintons got it done formally. And remember, Hillary herself made many trips to Ireland to help seal this deal.
Barry has been played beautifully by Bill and I think even Rahm knows it. Hence his interest in being mayor of Chicago.
