Deficits: Taxing The Rich

David Stockman, Ronald Reagan's budget director who once preached tax cuts, is now in favor of putting a one-time surtax on the rich. Lesley Stahl reports and finds just such a proposal on the ballot in the state of Washington.

 

Look what happened in Washington State in its effort to tax the rich.  With lots of advertisement, the Initiative 1098 looses.  Big earners got big support from the masses.

Income tax initiative 1098 loses big in Washington State.

Next, Washington State has to look at cutting down to the core services. 

Do the businesses care about the need for investing in education? It does not look like they do.  Instead, we have the Tea Partiers who want to defund the Department of Education!

It is the same issue at the National level. disbelief
